Hizbullah Media Relations office issued the following statement:
We regret the misleading campaign and forging of events which has been applied for the last few hours by some parties and media agencies regarding the event that occurred yesterday night in Mazraa Cornice. We had hoped that they resort to the information given by the security institutions instead of waging a fabricated instigation campaign because these (security) institutions know the truth of what had happened when the convoy of young men who had taken part in the resistance and Liberation ceremony were showered with heavy stone throwing when they reached the Mazraa Cornice area. Hence, there was an exchange of words and a dispute broke out when a member of the Future movement threw a hand grenade on the convoy, yet a mistake occurred and the hand grenade exploded near the thrower, the matter which resulted in the injury of several members in his own group, the matter which is evident to the concerned institutions as well as the name of the perpetrator.
Some media agencies ought to have scrutinized what occurred in place of fabricating incidents and distorting the present mood of calm and waging a misleading media campaign to distort the celebrative atmosphere on this significant national holiday which was preceded by general political easement yearned for by the Lebanese.
