Hizbullah`s media office released a statement concerning the reported visit to Saudi Arabia: "A Hizbullah delegation including deputy Secretary General Sheikh Naim Kassem and the resigned minister Mohammad Fneish visited Saudi Arabia upon an invitation by King Abdullah Bin Abdul-Aziz. The delegation met with King Abdullah in Jeddah where they held talks over the situation in Lebanon, the importance of finding a solution to the current crisis and the effect of this situation on the region." The statement added, "The Hizbullah delegation discussed the Lebanese national opposition`s demands and the latest incidents that took place on the Lebanese arena especially the latest "Israeli" aggression against Lebanon and the party`s position regarding it." The delegation stressed the importance of the national unity and the participation of all active parties, the illegitimacy of the current government and the importance of preventing the situation from deteriorating into a Sunni-Shiite, Muslim-Christian clash. The statement added that King Abdullah expressed his concern about Lebanon, underlined understanding among all the Lebanese and expressed support to finding a way out of this crisis. It concluded that the talks were characterized by openness and desire to cooperate to secure Lebanon`s solidarity and independence.
