Hizbullah International Relations Officer Nawwaf Moussawi said that some political parties do not understand the new situation in Lebanon that followed the signing of the Doha Agreement.
"Governmental decisions cannot be made but through consensus," Moussawi told the Lebanese daily Al-Balad on Thursday. "The time when making decisions was a monopoly is over," he added.
Moussawi said it is not true that some parties want to build the state and others do not, adding that without the Resistance, its achievements and sacrifices, "there would be no country, and there would be no state."
Moussawi expressed surprise that some parties claim to preserve Lebanon's independence and keep its better interests in mind, while they are the ones dividing the country along sectarian lines, a reference to the Lebanese Forces and MP Walid Jumblatt's Progressive Socialist Party.
The majority's monopoly obstructed the workings of the state, he said, saying that the opposition and the Resistance revived state institutions and protected the country through partnership.
