Hizbullah and PSP meet in Khaldeh to prevent conflict in universities

With the academic year beginning, the Progressive Socialist Party (PSP) and Hizbullah's joint committee held a meeting, attended by Democratic Gathering bloc MP Akram Chehayeb and Hizbullah official Wafik Safa, to look for ways to reduce tensions and prevent the situation in the nation's universities and colleges from spiraling out of control.
Hizbullah Education Leadership Commission participated, as did student representative Youssef al-Bassam, university representative Bilal Lakkis, as well as education representatives from Qmatiyeh, Keifoun and Shweifet. The PSP delegation included youth and students representative Ziad Nasser, deputy secretary general of the Progressive Youth Organization (PYO) Bilal Jaber, PYO Students representative Zafer Nasser, and Lebanese Democratic Party students' representative Mohammad al-Mohtar.
Participants agreed to hold a quick meeting between education leaders to help calm the atmosphere in all fields of educations, and to create the positive framework for the academic year. The participants said that parents should be comforted that through continuous communication, the coming academic year would be free of tension and fighting.
