Hizbullah official Nawaf Moussawi said that it was crucial that "Israeli" violations stop, before adding that Lebanon should retain its right to confront the Zionist state. Moussawi also warned of "Israeli" diplomatic maneuvers that aimed to make the aggressor look like the peacemaker, and he accused some at the UN of bias toward "Israel" in their "misleading reports."
During a meeting with Greek Ambassador Panos Kalogeropoulos on Friday, Moussawi asked, "How do some find it strange to adopt popular resistance as the defense strategy, now that the armies of the world rely on the strategy of unorganized war, which in other terms means resistance methods on various levels?" Moussawi also questioned why some "disregarded the fact that Lebanon's power is in its resistance," which, he said, was the source of the country's sovereignty.
The reason a strong and just state had still not been achieved, he said, was due to corruption among the ruling administration, which gave personal interests priority over national ones, as well as a mentality that counted on developments and accommodation, instead of a firm resolve for one's rights.
Kalogeropoulos, for his part, said that Greece was eager to preserve Lebanon's sovereignty and was participating in surveillance projects to detect "Israeli" violations of the country's airspace.
