Kahwaji: "Israeli" Threats Will Not Weaken Army΄s Determination
Lebanese Army Commander General Jean Kahwaji stressed Wednesday that threats by "Israeli" leaders against Lebanon would not weaken the army's determination to defend the nation against the enemy.
Speaking to reporters while inspecting military units in the Bekaa, General Kahwaji said that the army would confront the Zionist enemy, despite the ongoing threats. He also praised the operation that recently brought down an "Israeli" spy network, and said it brought relief to citizens and improved Lebanon's security and stability.
The Lebanese Army Commander, meanwhile, emphasized the necessity of enhancing security procedures in the Bekaa and preventing smuggling along the border with Syria.
Kahwaji affirmed that the army's role in defending the nation's territory and preserving its security, and thus constituting the only guarantee of Lebanon's unity and independence.
He stressed that the Bekaa wouldn't be an area where enemies could take revenge against brotherly Arab countries.
