24 American troops have been wounded in the recent wave of offensives on the military bases across the Middle East, anonymous US officials on Tuesday told The Washington Post. The 13 reported incidents, that have taken place since the start of the “Israeli” entity’s war against the besieged Gaza Strip, are blamed on resistance groups in Syria and Iraq.

Most recently, on Tuesday, US bases were hit with three separate operations in Syria. The most significant incident occurred also in Syria, at the al-Tanf Garrison on October 18 with 20 service members wounded.

Earlier on Monday, US War Secretary Lloyd J. Austin III spoke with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani. According to the press release, al-Sudani expressed “his government's full commitment to protect US forces who are in Iraq at the invitation of the Iraqi government. US and Coalition forces remain in Iraq in support of the Iraqi Security Forces to achieve the enduring defeat ‘ISIS’. This mission is critical for regional stability and security”.

The intelligence obtained by the US earlier this week indicated high risks of future offensives.

In fear of further escalation, the Pentagon on Wednesday deployed its squadron of F-16 fighter jets to the Middle East. Their exact destination has not been stated.

The Pentagon press secretary Brig. Gen. Pat Ryder stated in a briefing: “What we are seeing is the prospect for more significant escalation against US forces and personnel across the region in the very near term coming from Iranian ‘proxy’ forces and ultimately from Iran.”
