Hizbullah Condemns Medhat΄s Assassination, Calls for Punishing Criminals

Hizbullah vehemently condemned on Monday the assassination of the deputy of PLO representative in Lebanon Kamal Medhat and his companions.
The Resistance party called, in a statement it released, to try and punish those who were behind crime and expressed its sympathy to the Palestinian people and the PLO over Medhat's martyrdom.
Hizbullah warned that the crime was targeting both the Palestinian and Lebanese nations, emphasizing that the Zionist fingerprints behind it were obvious.
The party concluded its statement by noting that the criminals were attempting to create confusion and chaos within the Lebanese and Palestinian scenes at such a critical stage in the whole region.
Medhat was martyred on Monday along with four of his bodyguards as a result of a bomb blast at the Mieh Mieh refugee camp near the southern Lebanese coastal city of Sidon. The force of the blast tore through the Mercedes in which Medhat was traveling and threw the car into a nearby field, witnesses said.
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas condemned Medhat's killing as an act of terrorism. "President Abbas condemns the terrorist crime that targeted Major General Kamal Medhat," he said in a statement issued by his office. "He dedicated his life to serve his people and his cause," the statement added.
