A security source told Reuters on Tuesday that a Lebanese Armed Forces colonel was arrested a week ago on suspicion of spying for "Israel". The source said that the Lebanese authorities are investigating with the detainee about his communications with "Israeli" spy agencies.
However, Judge Saqr Saqr sent a request to the chief military judge, Rashid Mezher, to issue a subpoena for Gerges Farah's arrest, in connection with further investigations, after he was detained under allegations of being an "Israeli" spy.
Saqr also charged Farah's brother, Hanna, and another man identified as Ahmad in absentia.
