Iran Vows To Expand Offensive, Defensive Military Capabilities

Commander-in-Chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards [IRG], Major General Ahmad Vahidi, said Iran will continue strengthening both its defensive and offensive military capabilities, stressing the need to further develop the country’s domestic defense industry in response to external threats.

Vahidi said Iran’s adversaries would continue efforts against the Iranian people, making sustained military readiness and the expansion of indigenous defense capabilities essential.

He emphasized that Iran remains committed to advancing its military capabilities across both defensive and offensive domains, with domestic production serving as a key pillar of its preparedness amid years of sanctions and restrictions on access to foreign defense technology.

Meanwhile, Iranian Armed Forces General Staff Chief Major General Ali Abdollahi warned against any miscalculation by Iran’s adversaries, saying that threats against the Islamic Republic would trigger “crushing, deterrent and destructive revolutionary responses.”

Iranian military officials have repeatedly stressed the importance of maintaining a high level of readiness amid what they describe as continuing threats from hostile powers, while emphasizing deterrence as a central component of national defense.

At the same time, IRG spokesperson Hossein Mohebbi highlighted Iran’s advances in combat weapons, particularly efforts to produce systems with greater precision.

He said that should another war break out, Iranian weapons would be different from those used previously, pointing to possible advances in warhead technology, accuracy, missile range, and other areas.

Overall, the remarks from Vahidi, Abdollahi, and Mohebbi underscore Iran’s stated commitment to military self-reliance, technological advancement, and the continued expansion of its defensive and offensive capabilities in preparation for any potential confrontation.
