Hizbollah Site Staff, 01-08-2009
Commenting on the terrorist bombings that claimed more than 165 killed and wounded in the many mosques and Hussainiyat halls in Baghdad and its suburbs, Hizbullah issued the following statement:
Hizbullah strongly condemns the criminal bombing targeting innocent Iraqi citizens during their performance of religious duties in a number of mosques and Hosainyat Baghdad and its suburbs, which led to dozens of dead and injured. Hizbullah believes that the continued mass killings in the places of worship and other places, is but blind terrorism that shames humanity and a tragic brutality no mind, creed or religion can approve of or accept.
While Hizbullah condemns these horrific crimes it sees their occurrence as part of the context of seeking to foment discord and violence in Iraq, thus contributing to the objectives of the U.S. occupation.
As Hizbullah extends its deepest condolences to the Iraqi people and the families of the wronged martyrs and the Sadrists movement, it asks Almighty God for His compassion with the martys and a speedy recovery for the wounded. Hizbullah calls to make the utmost effort to take the criminals to the courts of justice, in the interests of Iraq and its people.
