In memory of the 40th anniversary of Al-Aqsa Mosque's burning, Hizbullah issued the following statement:

"On the 40th anniversary of Al-Aqsa Mosque's burning by Zionist extremist which happened in complicity with the "Israeli" occupation authorities, this year taking place simultaneously with the Holy month of Ramadan as well as the declaration of Al-Quds (Jerusalem) as the Arab capital of culture 2009, Hizbullah reiterate the emphasis on the civil, humane and brotherhood responsibility of our Arab and Islamic nations towards the Palestinian people and their fair cause as well as towards defending Al-Quds (Jerusalem) and al-Aqsa Mosque in addition to all the other Islamic and Christian sanctities against the Israeli occupation."

"Hizbullah condemns the "Israeli" brutality, its continuous violations and crimes since 61 years, and since the occupation of East Al-Quds 42 years ago during the July war in 1967."

The statement also said: " There should be a firm stand against the repeated "Israeli" violations for al-Aqsa Mosque, Judaization policies, confiscating lands in Al-Quds (Jerusalem) and at the top of them the two-state solution and what it holds of recognizing the Jewish state what leads to the recognition of Judaizing Al-Quds (Jerusalem) and the rest of the occupied Palestinian territories."

"The Palestinians should not be deceived by the fake peace, promoted by the US administration these days, and to work for accomplishing the Palestinian national reconciliation based on the adherence to their right of resisting the occupation and aggression until they regain their legal national rights in full."

Finally Hizbullah statement stressed: "The continuation of occupying Al-Quds by the Zionist entity, supported by the consecutive US administrations, under international complicity and official Arab silence, is a flagrant violation of international laws and a blatant aggression on humane values, and a crime against the Palestinian people."
