In Comment on the tragic incident that claimed the life of the citizen George Abu Madi, leaders of Hizbullah and Amal, issued the following statement:

The leadership of Hizbullah and Amal condemn the tragic incident that occurred in Ain Al Rimmeneh area in Beirut, in which citizen George Abu Madi was killed.

Both leaderships call upon the concerned judicial and security authorities to take necessary and complete measures to uncover the full details of the crime, bring justice, and maintain security in the country.

Hizbollah and Amal criticized those who trumpet negativity fueling sectarian incitement, and said such an act is not in the interest of Lebanon and does not serve the country.

In addition, this incident is an individual one and is not based on any sectarian or regional backgrounds.

Both leaderships see that such stances loaded with incitement and instigating sectarianism - whether attitudes issued in the wake of the incident or before it- contribute to disseminating discord among the people of one homeland, in addition to creating an atmosphere of alienation, alert and mobilizing sectarianism

The leadership of Hizbullah and Amal renew invitation to all parties to carry their moral and national responsibilities and to enjoy the utmost degree of awareness in order to immunize and strengthen the one existence, in such a way that preserves the interests of the people and the country.
