Opposition leaders: Formation of Unity Government to proceed

A meeting was held on Friday eve, 6th of October 2009, joining leaders of opposition together.

The meeting brought together the Lebanese Speaker Nabih Berri, the head of the Change and Reform parliamentary bloc MP Michel Aoun, Head of the Marada Party MP Sleiman Franjieh and His Eminence Hizbullah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, in presence of communication minister MP Jebran Bassil, Hizbullah Secretary General Political Advisor MP Haj Hussein Al Khalil in addition to Haj Wafiq Safa.

The partakers reviewed the latest and most recent developments on the political arena, especially with regard to the formation of the government and the latest ideas and proposals put forward.

The participants agreed to proceed in forming a government of national unity in accord with the rules agreed upon in the outcome of the negotiations, hoping this step will achieve what is best for Lebanon and its precious people.
