Netanyahu: Today, Lebanon’s real army is Hizbullah

"Israeli" Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the security situation along occupied Palestine's border with Lebanon during a meeting of the Knesset Foreign Affairs and War Committee on Monday, saying that Hizbullah was taking the place of the Lebanese army as the country's major military power.
He warned that "Israel" will hold Beirut responsible for any Hizbullah attempt against "Israel" after the Lebanese government endorsed a bill allowing the movement to keep its arms.
"If in the past we viewed Lebanon as a secondary military power," Netanyahu said, "today Hizbullah is the real Lebanese army, and it has replaced the actual Lebanese army as a major force that is arming itself and training like any other army."
"The Lebanese government and Hizbullah are becoming intertwined," he added. "They are the ones who would be held responsible for any attack on "Israel"."
After a unity government that included Hizbullah was formed, Lebanon's government adopted a policy statement granting the movement the right to keep its arms, since parts of the Lebanese territory are still occupied and as Hizbullah is the only deterrent of any "Israeli" attack on Lebanon which has been suffering "Israeli" aggressions since 1948.
