Sayyed Nasrallah on the Tasu’a night: strength of the Resistance lies in faith and sacrifice
Nour Rida, 27-12-2009
The ninth night of Ashura arrived, and His Eminence Secretary General of Hizbullah Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah made his speech remembering, and reminding of that blood-stained field of Karbala, where the grandson of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) fell, tortured by thirst, and surrounded by the bodies of his martyred companions, children and nephews.
Imam Hussein and 72 of his companions and family members were martyred at the hands of the forces of the caliph Yazid at Karbala, Iraq, over 1400 years ago.
Imam Hussein's tragedy does awaken the most tepid and the oblivious. What more sacrifice, strength, faith is than that of the master of all martyrs who witnessed all his beloved slaughtered before his eyes, feeling pain as the daughters, sisters, wives will be captives, left orphans and alone. What sacrifice is bigger than that! His soul...indestructible, his faith...impervious.
The martyrdom of Imam Hussein has evolved into a symbol of the struggle against injustice and tyranny among Muslims and many non-Muslims all over the world.
Well, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah made people experience the feelings, or at least visualize the scene. Those people who are fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters and friends of martyrs who were killed in a battle under the title of justice, a battle against vain, as not house in Lebanon did not grieve over the loss of loved ones, even infants who were martyred during the "Israeli" wars and massacres, latest of which is the July war, the Divine victory.
His Eminence reminded that at the loss of loved ones, we cry in grief but are proud and we pour down tears for our great loss but remain in high spirits and feel content as our martyrs are great winners.
Sayyed Hassan, in a televised speech through "Sayyed AL Shuhada" giant screen, shed tears of pain for the great loss of Imam Hussein, and so is the case of millions of Muslims around the world who befriend Ahl-ul-Bayt, and mourn for Imam Hussein (A.S.) and commemorate his martyrdom this year, and will do so each year in every century.
Sayyed Nasrallah assured that the Resistance is a continuation to Imam Hussein\'s battle and abiding by his teachings, and that the strength of the Resistance lies in its faith, and patience. And like Mahatma Ghandi said once, Mahatma Gandhi "My faith is that the progress of Islam does not depend on the use of sword by its believers, but the result of the supreme sacrifice of Hussein (A.S.), the great saint." And this is when the weapon becomes sacred.
The leader of the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon addressed the people, calling them "the people of pride and dignity" and asked them, all of them, to join the march on the tenth day of Muharram, supporting Imam Hussein and renewing the pledge to him and to Imam Mahdi (may Allah hasten his appearance).
In a few hours, we will be providing you with Sayyed Nasrallah's speech on the tenth day of Ashura, as the Ashura ceremony had started and since the early morning, the streets have been choking with supporters of Imam Hussein and his successors, raising their fists and calling for the destruction of this era's entities of Vanity: the "Israeli" enemy and the US corrupt government.
