Ayatollah Mohammad Hussein Fadlallah said the Islamic Republic in Iran is passing through a delicate phase. Any attempts to weaken Iran serves the arrogant project the Zionists stand behind, whether certain sides pay attention to this face or not. 

His Eminence emphasized that Islam embraces the opposition, provided it moves within the range of values, principles and foundations, in order to prevent the nation's enemies from exploiting internal gaps to fragment its positions of strength to tear it apart. He focused on the need to open up internal dialogue at all levels.

During his meeting with an Iranian delegation headed by Sayyed Mojtaba Husseini, the representative of the Islamic Republic commander Sayyed Ali Khamenei, in Damascus, who after inquiring about Sayyed Fadlallah's health, they discussed a number of general Islamic affairs, in addition to the situation in Iran and the threats targeting it on more than one level.

He added: "While we stress Islam and the Islamic system's embrace of the opposition, we want the opposition to act within the range of values, principles and foundations that prevent the nation's enemies from using any movement to fragment the Islamic positions of strength, to tear the nation apart, disperse it and break its will. Therefore, we call for action on two lines: to open up internal dialogue at all levels, particularly with those who hold themselves loyal to the nation, Islam and the homeland, and to seal off all gaps the axis of arrogance attempts to infiltrate through to threaten the security of the nation, by targeting its strength positions and immunity."
