Commenting on the stance of UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon on the resolution 1559, Hizbullah issued the following statement:

It is not new that the UN Secretary General takes unjust and unfair stances in his view of the situation in Lebanon, especially in his blaming Hizbullah for all the problems Lebanon witnesses.
This is the nature of the task that the US administration and some Western governments have given him, which he implements precisely instead of performing his role as a guarantor of nations' rights and working to achieve security and peace in the world's states.

The latest stance of the UN Secretary General clearly shows that he stands in the ranks of Zionist violators of Lebanon's security and stability, and justifies their crimes and terrorist practices while he condemns Lebanon for maintaining its strength and impregnability in confronting this blatant aggression. [Ban] also adopted Resolution 1559 as a platform from which he launches accusations, depending on the reports written by the International employee of the Zionist media system Terje Roed Larsen which express his total hostility towards the resistance, Lebanon, the Arabs, and all the just causes in this world.

Hizbullah condemns this set of new accusations issued by the UN Secretary General, and assures its continuous efforts to protect Lebanon and ensure its dignity and pride under the golden formula of the people, army, and Resistance in confronting the everyday-increasing Zionist aggressions and greed. [These take place] not only in Lebanon but also in our region, particularly in the Occupied Palestine while the international officials set a blind eye to the heinous crimes the Zionists commit against its people.
