Hizbullah Expresses Worries on Torture against Prisoners in Roumieh Prison

Commenting on news about prisoners being subject to torture in Roumieh jail, Hizbullah issued the following statement:

Hizbullah expresses its great concern over the media reports of torture, and demands relevant judicial authorities to launch an investigation to uncover these practices in order to take legal measures against such practices.

Hizbullah calls on the Parliament to form a parliamentary committee to probe the issue and follow on the case until reaching a fair result.

Hizbullah calls for swift action to resolve this sensitive humanitarian file, and condemns any unethical or inhumane practices against the prison inmates. Hizbullah demands that the inmates be treated according to law and should be allowed to rehabilitate and become effective entities in society once again.
