Hizbullah Condemns the two terrorist attacks that targeted the Syrian capital, Damascus Thursday morning. Commenting on the violent incident, Hizbullah issued the following statement:
Words of condemnation are inadequate to describe the heinous crime that took place in the streets of Damascus today. Two explosions hit the city, shredding and burning the bodies of civilians including children and adults, as the United Nations and entire world watched the scene.
[We question], is this the Arab spring Washington and its Arab allies want? Or is it a small sample of what awaits Syria and the Arab peoples?
Do these represent accomplishments of the American freedom [dream] which has so far been responsible for the killing of thousands of Iraqis and other peoples to which the US allegedly claimed bring freedom?
These terrorist attacks reveal the criminals' desperation, as they could not affect the determination of the Syrian people, or prevent them from standing in face of the major conspiracy woven against them, their country, and proud stances. [It did not either prevent them from] confronting the regional and international hegemonic powers.
The entire world is required to widely condemn these terrorist attacks, its perpetrators and supporters of the Arab and Western countries.
Also, as the International Observers Delegation is present in Syria, the United nations stands today before major responsibilities. [The UN] should take decisive measures, also launch a clear stance on these terrorist crimes and their perpetrators.
Hence, Hizbullah vehemently condemns and strictly rejects this terrorist act. Hizbullah also supports Syria and people in their attempt to reforms, also supports the leadership's brave national stances.
Hizbullah condoles the parents and families of the martyrs, and hopes quick recovery to the wounded.
