Hizbullah Condemns Assassination Attempt of Syrian PM

Local Editor
Condemning the assassination attempt that targeted Syrian Prime Minister Wael al-Halqi on Monday, Hizbullah issued the following statement:
The barbaric hand of criminality has been stretched again, this time targeting Syrian Prime Minister Dr. Wael al-Halqi in an assassination attempt in the area of Mazzeh in the Syrian capital causing numerous casualties; dead and injured.
Hizbullah condemns this new terrorist crime, and believes it proved political bankruptcy and military failure amongst the terrorist militant groups run by international and regional conspirators, who do not want the Syrian state and people to maintain the effective contribution to the issues of our Islamic and Arab region, mainly the Palestinian cause.
The targeting of Syrian PM Wael al-Halqi and his companions, also the prior assassination of the great martyr Dr. Sheikh Mohammad Said al-Bouti, the most prominent symbol of religious tolerance and Islamic values, are clear indications of the terrorist nature of those who want to destroy Syria and drop it in the chaos.
Hizbullah congratulates al-Halqi for surviving this criminal act, praying Allah the Almighty to grant martyrs with mercy and forgiveness, and to bless the wounded a speedy recovery.
We ask the Almighty to the lift this injustice off the Syrian people.
