Denouncing the attack on a bus in Tripoli's neighborhood of Bab al-Tabbanah, Hizbullah issued the following statement:
The crime committed by a malevolent group in Tripoli against workers is literally a murder that should be denounced by all (parties and sides). It is a serious message for all of the Lebanese, indicating the effect of sectarian strife on the country.
As Hizbullah condemns this crime, and demands the security and judicial authorities to take necessary measures and punish the perpetrators to prevent the reoccurrence of similar crimes.
Moreover, Hizbullah renews calls to stop sectarian incitement, urging rational figures in Lebanon in general and in Tripoli in particular to exert efforts in order to avoid the reoccurrence of such attacks.
On Saturday, gunmen stopped a bus in Bab al-Tabbaneh and opened fire on it, injuring nine workers.
All nine workers had either gunshot wounds from beating and were taken to hospital for treatment.
