Hizbullah Condemns Flagrant Attack on Mufti

Commenting on the assault against the Grand Mufti of the Republic Sheikh Mohammed Rashid Qabbani, Hizbullah issued the following statement.
Hizbullah expresses its strong condemnation and denounce to the flagrant attack that targeted the Grand Mufti of the Republic Sheikh Mohammed Rashid Qabbani during the funeral ceremony in the Khasheqgi mosque to one of the martyrs, who died due to the terrorist blast that rocked Beirut two days ago.
It further views that the verbal attacks on religious leaderships are a deplorable attempt to introduce expressions that are alien to our Arab and Islamic culture which respects and revers scholars.
As Hizbullah stresses its solidarity with His Eminence -- given the Islamic and national position he represents and since he is one of the unifying figures -- it sees in this obscene assault a cheap attempt by some parties to politically exploit the blood of the martyrs.
In parallel, it urges the state authorities to take all the necessary measures to prevent the recurrence of such attacks.
