Hizbullah Condemns Assassination Attempt on Sheikh Suleiman’s Life

Hizbullah denounced Wednesday the attempt to assassinate Sheikh Arsan Suleiman in Ain al-Hilweh Palestinian camp for refugees and issued the following statement:
Meddling hands insist on committing crimes, seeking to sow strife and to spread discord inside our communities to serve the enemies of our nation.
This time, these hands tried to assassinate an official in the Association of Islamic Charitable Projects, Sheikh Arsan Suleiman, causing escalated tension in the camp.
This assassination attempt is condemned in all its aspects since it targeted a scholar and it happened in Ain al-Hilweh refugee camp, in light of delicate and difficult conditions that both the Lebanese and Palestinian people are suffering from.
The perpetrators of these crimes are those who hate the plurality of opinions, and the diversity of interpretations. They further kill on suspicion of differences in ideology and intellect. Thus, they provide the Zionist enemy a free service.
As Hizbullah condemned this heinous crime, it urged the Palestinians in the camps to have an utmost awareness against attempts to fuel strife.
It also called them to seek to thwart these criminal schemes through unity, togetherness, and tolerance.
The party asked the concerned sides to uncover the reasons behind this incident, pursue perpetrators and drag them to justice as soon as possible.
Moreover, Hizbullah expressed its solidarity with the brothers in the Association of Islamic Charitable Projects in this ordeal, wishing Sheikh Suleiman a speedy recovery.
