Hizbullah Condemns Bahraini Regime’s Arbitrary Arrest of Sheikh Salman

Hizbullah issued a statement condemning the "serious step taken by the Bahraini authorities, resembled by the arrest of the struggling scholar in the Bahraini people's march towards freedom, Secretary General of the National al-Wefaq Movement, His Eminence Sheikh Ali Salman."
It further urged the Bahraini regime to immediately release him without any delay."
The statement added that "Hizbullah sees in this arbitrary and flagrant step an aggression against the uprising Bahraini people, who insisted on demanding their legitimate rights through a peaceful political path i.e. accepted and guaranteed by all international laws."
"The Bahraini authorities' actions- that neglect the feelings of freedom fighters in Bahrain and the world- is a confirmation of the continuous regime's great anger and annoyance from the failure of the sham elections held earlier this month."
Hizbullah also recalled that "this election, which was boycotted by al-Wefaq and most living forces- also expressed the regime's annoyance of the crowded democratic elections carried out by al-Wefaq last week, leading to the re-election of Sheikh Salman as a secretary-general. "
In parallel, the party called the Arab League. the United Nations human rights' bodies and living conscience in the world to pressure the Bahraini regime to return from this unjust and arbitrary decision."
It also emphasized that they act so that the Bahraini government "retreat from its continued escalation and repressive measures, and to work to find a political solution to the crisis, thus satisfying the aspirations of the Bahraini people and achieving internal consensus."
