The 'Israeli' daily Yedioth Ahronot quoted an 'Israeli' security source as saying that Hizbullah has completed military and logistical preparations for a confrontation with 'Israel'.
"Hizbullah's preparations reinforce the 'Israeli' Intelligence Services' estimations that a confrontation on the northern borders of 'Israel' is coming before one in the Gaza Strip," the source told the daily.
"This is probably what is preventing 'Israel' from opening a wider front in Gaza," he added.
The source also pointed at the statements of top 'Israeli' officials, including war Minister Ehud Barak, about Hizbullah restocking its rocket arsenal after the 2006 July War.
Reports from the 'Israeli' Counter-intelligence and Internal Security Service, the Institute for Intelligence and Special Operations, the Mossad and the 'Israeli' Military Intelligence to the 'Israeli' government noted the increasing possibility of Hizbullah strikes.
The reports also noted that the outbreak of confrontations on one front might lead to violence on other fronts.
The 'Israeli' Security Services also noted that Hizbullah has been closely watching the moves of the 'Israeli' army along the Lebanese-'Israeli' border and has developed strategies for varying scenarios.
"The party has also made plans for operations in South Lebanon and Baalbek," the source added.
He continued that Hizbullah will take the first chance to retaliate to the assassination of its top military commander, Imad Moghnieh.
"The 'Israeli' army is preparing itself for possible confrontations this year," the source added.
