Commenting on the waste crisis that the Lebanese are suffering from, Hizbullah issued the following statement:

Hizbullah Demands End to Trash Disposal Farce, Urges Reasonable Solutions

The trash crisis is one of the signs of the accumulating and rampant corruption during the two decades, which would not have reached such a level had a proposal on the issue, made in 1997, been adopted or reaffirmed in 2010.

This comes as the relevant administrations showed no move for its implementation, for the sake of personal and political ambitions at the expense of the interests of citizens.

The waste crisis clearly indicates who is responsible for it, as its details aren't hidden to anyone.

In parallel, the extent of the popular explosion to demand a solution for it in all of Lebanon proves the size of the environmental, social and moral disaster resulting from the ill-management of such issues by successive governments.

We- in Hizbullah- hoped that this sensitive issue would have been addressed positively, but unfortunately we were shocked by the scandal of the proposed prices of tenders for the waste management.

We call for the end of the negative repercussions to the farce of the trash crisis in favor of reasonable solutions that would tackle the transitional phase ahead of reaching a strategic plan.

Hizbullah further called to stop the lanes of corruption in this dossier that endangers the health and future of our children and society.

As Hizbullah stresses the right of peaceful protests, given that reasonable objection is a legitimate right, it reiterates that just solutions would calm people down and pave the ground for actions in the people's interest in this important issue.
