Hizbullah Deputy Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem, met the American group working for peace and human rights headed by former U.S. consul Richard Vince, accompanied by Ambassador of the World Organization for Human Rights and the President of the Lebanese Association for Detainees and those Released.

During the meeting, Sheikh Qassem said: Hizbullah is an advocate of peace based on justice and returning the rights to their owners. It has always held to the position of defense of the land, sovereignty and free choice, refusal of guardianship and occupation. Also, it resorted constantly to the political conduct when dealing with those of differing political opinions and stances. At the same time, its resistance against 'Israel' for liberation and defense of the homeland, is unambiguous to the world".

He added: "When America and its coterie describe us as (so-called) 'terrorists', it is because we disagree with its dominant and unjust policies. In their use of such description, they attempt to frighten us and scare people away from us, but the truth clearly emerged".

Qassem continued to say:" The resistance today is stronger and more popular because of its sacrifices and the sincerity of its mujahideen and people, making the resistance a source of hope for regional revolutionaries and freedom fighters. Their (America and its coterie) accusing us of terrorism has become their burden now that their lies have been unveiled".

Sheikh Qassem believed that "America today, under its arrogant administration, is the cause of all crises and problems in our region. The problems it intervened in had deepened whereas the solutions became more distant. America is successful in creating crises and thorny issues yet a failure in inventing solutions. It is the reason behind the high degree of tension in the region, whether in Afghanistan, Iraq, Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Iran, or even Pakistan or other parts of the Arab and Islamic world".

He concluded: the resistance turned from a mission to a reality that entered the heart of the nation. Facts cannot efface and the world must address the causes of the crises. Their use of ready-made accusations has become a part of a bygone era, for the resistance that gave such great sacrifices remains and continues to stand in defense of the land and right.
