Katyusha rockets that pounded "Israeli" settlements in northern occupied Palestine until the last hour of the "Israeli" aggression against Lebanon, constitute an aspect of the "Israeli" defeat which can never be erased from the minds of "Israeli" generals. This is what senior officials have confirmed recently, including resigned Chief of Staff Dan Halutz. He acknowledged on many occasion the "Israeli" failure in eliminating the Katyusha threat, and considered that the fact that Hizbullah launched more than 200 Katyusha missiles on the final day of the war constitutes an aspect of the bitter fiascos of this "Israeli" war. "Israeli" daily Haaretz revealed that the terrible failure in stopping Katyushas is a result of the shortage of intelligence about Hizbullah`s short range rocket system.
The daily added that this "Israeli" failure in confronting Katyushas represents a key part of the Winograd panel report that would be published in the middle of March.
