Hundreds of Palestinians took to the streets on Friday in Ramallah in the occupied West Bank, where people expressed support for Hamas amid the Zionist regime’s ongoing war against the besieged Gaza Strip.

The crowd chanted slogans including: “liberate Gaza” and “the people want the Al-Qassam Brigades” in reference to Hamas’ armed wing.

Others waved Hamas flags along with banners representing a range of Palestinian movements.

Fakhi Barghouti, 80, said Palestinians in the West Bank “need to do more about the war in Gaza.”

Several people refused to answer AFP’s questions, believing that Western and particularly French media coverage of the war was “biased.”

The demonstration came just hours after the Zionist occupation forces killed at least four Palestinians during a dawn raid in the north of the occupied West Bank, with Hamas members among the martyrs.

Violence has risen sharply in the West Bank since the October 7 surprise operation by Hamas in the ‘Israeli’-occupied Palestinian territories.

In neighboring Jordan on Friday, at least 5,000 people demonstrated in the capital Amman to demand that the kingdom’s treaty with the Zionist entity be annulled.

Jordan was the second Arab state to normalize ties with the ‘Israeli’ entity in 1994, after Egypt in 1979.

Additionally, in Iraq, Sadrist Movement leader Sayyed Moqtada Sadr demanded that the government close the US embassy in Baghdad in response to Washington’s support for the ‘Tel Aviv’ regime in its war on Gaza.

Sadr warned on X, formerly Twitter, that if this does not happen “we will take a different position that we will announce later.”
