Ayatollah Jannati: US, «Israel» Afraid of the Power of Hizbullah

Chairman of the Experts Assembly Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati said on Sunday that Hizbullah has become so much powerful that the US and the "Israeli" regime are afraid of.

Ayatollah Jannati made the remarks in a meeting in Tehran with a group of young Hizbullah members.

"Earlier, there was a belief that the Muslim countries could not defeat the Zionist regime, but, thank God, the Lebanese Hizbullah could defeat the occupying regime of ‘Israel' both militarily and politically,' the Ayatollah said.

Prior to the 1979 Islamic Revolution, Islam was in isolation and all the people viewed Islam as a source of backwardness, the Ayatollah added.

He said that before the Islamic Revolution, religion was deemed separated from politics and the Ulema did not get involved in the political issues.

Ayatollah Jannati made it clear that Iran will not leave Hizbullah alone in its fight with the apartheid "Israeli" regime.
