Maduro’s Allies Win Venezuela’s Parliamentary Elections

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro said the triumph of his political alliance in the country’s legislative elections is a popular ratification of his presidency.
According to electoral officials, the ruling United Socialist Party and its allies secured over 67 percent of the vote.
Maduro said that the country will be benefitted by the new majority of socialists in the National Assembly as now the legislature will work with him in the legal battle against the US sanctions that have crippled the Venezuelan economy over the past few years.
He said this election win will be followed by more victories. But the Venezuelan opposition has decried the election's outcome but socialists dismiss the allegation of electoral fraud.
Venezuela's ruling socialist party has won an overwhelming victory in the legislative elections. While the US has denounced the elections over fraud allegations, millions of Venezuelans cast their votes in support of Maduro's party.
