’Israeli’ Occupation Forces Kill Father of Two Palestinian Martyrs in Jenin

"Israeli" occupation forces killed Fathi Khazem, known as "Abu Raad," the father of martyred Palestinians Raad and Abdul Rahman Khazem, during a raid on his home in Jenin in the northern occupied West Bank early Friday.

Local sources said "Israeli" occupation forces stormed Khazem's home near the main roundabout in central Jenin and opened fire on him at close range. They subsequently detained his body and transferred it to an undisclosed location.

The sources added that occupation forces prevented an ambulance from reaching Khazem after he was wounded, leaving him bleeding until he succumbed to his injuries.

Khazem was a retired colonel in the Palestinian National Security Forces and had been wanted by "Israel", particularly following the martyrdom of his two sons at the hands of "Israeli" occupation forces.

Following the deaths of his two sons, Khazem became a prominent symbol of popular and armed resistance in the Jenin refugee camp. He was subjected to repeated pursuit, assassination and detention attempts, as well as the demolition of his home.

His health also deteriorated as a result of the ongoing pursuit and alleged poisoning attempts by the "Israeli" occupation, although he had previously recovered.

Khazem's son Raad carried out a shooting operation on Dizengoff Street in Tel Aviv in 2022, killing three "Israelis" and wounding others.

His other son, Abdul Rahman Khazem, who was one of the commanders of the Al-Quds Brigades, was killed in September 2022 during an armed confrontation with "Israeli" occupation forces that had surrounded his home.
