An occupation soldier with the US-led coalition was killed and three others wounded in a battle in northeastern Afghanistan Friday that destroyed an insurgent cell and killed about a dozen gunmen, the force said.
An Afghan security force member and an interpreter were also wounded in the fight in a remote area of mountainous Kunar province near the border with Pakistan, a coalition statement said.
The coalition did not release the nationality of its casualties in accordance with its policy. Most of the occupation soldiers in the force are US nationals.
