"Israel" is bracing itself for another military quake due to its failure in Lebanon during its July war against Lebanon, this time targeting the navy corps. "Israeli" media unveiled severe divisions within the navy corps because of the setbacks it suffered during the war, especially after the SAAR-5 vessel was hit with a resistance rocket. These divisions were brought to light after the commander of the "Shayetet 13" navy commandos unit, nicknamed "Noun" sent a letter to David Ben Bashaat, the navy commander criticizing his performance during the war and accusing him of cowardliness.
Noun who sought to demonstrate in his letter his courage and eagerness to conduct bold operation, received a response from Haaretz daily saying that the unit he conducted failed in the Tyre commandos operation during the July war and was unable to detain any Hizbullah operative. Instead Noun`s unit, Haaretz added, was ambushed by Hizbullah fighters who inflicted heavy losses in Noun`s unit. "Israeli" television said that Noun`s letter drew outrage within the navy commandership who said that those responsible for the inefficient use of the navy corps and the targeting to the SAAR-5 vessel were not held accountable. They also called for resignation of Bashaat, the current navy commander.
