Local Editor
STL general Prosecutor Daniel Bellemare sent the Lebanese Interior Ministry around 20 requests related to different issues, among which was a demand of the fingerprints of the four million Lebanese, according to As-Safir Lebanese daily.
The ministry in its turn studied the request according to the rules in effect, and replied with a letter asking about the reason behind such procedure and the question about such issue related to all the Lebanese people.
In a similar context, As-Safir pointed out "The ministry agreed to provide Bellemare with only a few hundreds of these fingerprints, within the borders of law." The paper also said the ministry is still studying the other requests Bellemare has presented recently.
