Lebanese Army Commander General Michel Sleiman told the Lebanese daily As-Safir that he doesn't expect an official "Israeli" agency to condemn the "Israeli" government more than the Winograd Commission's report did.
The Winograd Commission's final report listed a series of major failings by "Israel" during the country's 2006 summer war with Hizbullah but said that Prime Minister Ehud Olmert acted in good faith.
"What concerns us as a military institution is that the report explicitly said that "Israel" had made the decision to attack Lebanon without any justification," Sleiman said.
He also said that the public "Israeli" acknowledgment of its military failure "enhances our trust in our capacities as Lebanese."
"It also makes us, as a military institution, stress on the joint victory of the resistance and the Lebanese army during the 2006 July War that led to the defeat of the enemy," Sleiman said.
He also noted that Lebanon is still under threat and that the state, the people, the army and the resistance must remain aware to prevent danger and preserve the relation between the army and resistance.
He also condemned "Israel's" ongoing threat to assassinate Hizbullah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.
